Fairbuilding Team volunteered for the Adopt-a-School project of the Association of Fil-Am TeachersLangka of America, Inc. (AFTA) together with FBN NGO Partner, Youth for Portal Foundation and BESTI.

The grade 1 to 11 students of Langka Elementary School and PCNHS- Langka Annex in Brgy. Langka, Palayan City, Nueva Ecija, was able to receive school supply kits, medicines, and slippers.

The Fairbuilding team together with the Portal for Youth Foundation visited a community of Dumagat Tribe living in the mountains of Barangay Langka, Palayan, Nueva Ecija, last August 14th.

The team donated slippers, clothing, and groceries for the small community of Dumagat. Dr. Lawrence, a volunteer doctor, also conducted free medical consultations and donated medicines.

“Dumagat” derived its name from the word “dagat” or sea. The people used to live along the coastal stretches, but when Filipino homesteaders arrived in their areas, they were pushed farther into the mountains, and eventually dispersed in small groups. Some can be found in Bulacan, Rizal, Aurora, and Nueva Ecija.

welcome.
